Just came back from a 10 day Seoul holiday w the hubby. Had tons of fun… We were there as my husband wanted to run the Seoul marathon. He did and thanks to the cool weather managed to achieve his personal best timing. 🙂 I was so proud of him.
Here are some photo collages I’ve done to sum up each day of the trip.
Looking forward to returning to Seoul once again!

We had our full dress rehearsal tonight at jw. The bosses San & Jas were there to watch us… After my group presented our 10min piece, the bosses shared that they were v happy with our piece & that it was one of the best that they had seen so far. They were pleasantly surprised by the vast improvements in the actors characterization and acting. (they had seen video clips of our first few rehearsals) they were also impressed by our choice of costumes. 🙂
“You’re a good director.” they commended me on the way back home. They said that I had taken their advice & had directed the actors to make the changes. The bosses also said that they’ll let me try to direct some community dramas! *scream* 🙂 Despite my exhaustion, I feel over-the-moon by their encouraging words. Thank You Jesus for the wonderful opportunity to direct!

Through this difficult time, we had a little furry friend around us and with her around, people can’t help but smile… 🙂 Here’s why:
An Eulogy: Ah Mah
Posted September 23, 2012
on:Hi family & friends, thank u all for your presence here today.
I have many fond memories of my ah mah… She was a wonderful lady n today ill like to share 3 w u.
1. When my siblings and I were little, we would stay over at my grandparents place at Balam Road during school holidays. I loved staying there cos the neighbourhood would get visits from the mobile satay, otah or ice cream man. When we hear the ringing of the bell, my grandmother would give us some money to buy whatever we wanted… And didn’t even ask for her change back. That shows my grandmother’s generosity towards the people around her.
2. My grandmother speaks only hokkien, so we can’t really communicate much except for “have you eaten?” “such a hot day” “how’re you?” phrases like this… Also she always like to praise us for being “chu-bee” (cute) & “swee” (pretty/handsome) for those who don’t understand hokkien… 🙂 I’m sure if she’s alive today, she’ll also shower similar praises to u, chu-bee, swee, kiang (smart)…
3. – I remember when my grandparents stayed over at my place when my mother was not working. My grandparents would bicker – with my grannny nagging my grandfather. But several times I would see her lovingly feed him his food. She takes good care of him too. Theyve been married for over 60 years but she’s still so loving towards him. Through sickness & in health, thick & thin…Â you know she really loves him v much.
So athough Ah Mah isn’t here with us anymore, but when I think of her, ill remember to be generous to people, to speak kind words to people & to be loving to people. Ah mah, we love you.

I’m crying… N its becos of a pain. A pain of someone close to me transforming into someone I don’t know… What has happened? Has many years of self-induced neglect caused u to be like that? Uncaring, insensitive, lazy, hypocritical, unloving… Disgusting?
Oh God I pray for Your restoration over his life & soul.
Rest in peace Ah Mah

I’m at the wake of my maternal grandmother. She passed away this morning at St Andrew’s Community Hospital. She had been ill for the past few weeks, down w puenomia, stroke, breathelessness & swollen limps… Plus since many years ago, she became blind due to her diabetes. Well I feel sad that’s gone, but relieved as I believe she’s in a better place – heaven.
Some fond memories of my ah mah:
– when my siblings and I were little children, we used to stay over at her macpherson home during holidays. Whenever the ice-cream or otah man comes around the neighbourhood, she would give us some money to buy stuff. 🙂
– my grandmother speaks only hokkien, so we can’t really communicate much except for “have you eaten?” “such a hot day” “how’re you?” phrases like this… Also she always like to praise us for being “chu-bee” (cute) & “swee” (pretty) 🙂
– I remember when my grandparents stayed over for a while when my mother was not working. My grandparents would quarrel – with my grannny scolding my grandad. But you know its really cos she loves him.:)
My grandad passed away 3 years ago. My parents feel that my grannny left us cos she missed him. Maybe I don’t know. Well I’m glad that during her stay in cgh a few weeks ago, I managed to whisper several times in her ear “Jesus loves You, ah mah”. She didnt respond to me as she was not conscious, but I hope she felt comforted by that fact. So dear Lord, I lift up my grannny into Your hands, please look after her & give her every good thing she deserves, for being such a wonderful grandmother and mother to all of us. 🙂

I’ve been bitten by the crafting bug, it seems… In particular mosaic making, working with pom poms & felting. While I’ve not started my felting yet, I feel that its an interesting hobby ill like to pursue…
Here are some of my mosaic works and an artwork that I did for my office’s ‘The Artist in you’ staff art project.
And look what my little niece Ger and I made together:
We made the first 3 together (from Left) while she worked on the other 2 by herself. Impressive for a 5 yo!
Another step forward

on:Sorry that I haven’t blog much lately. Had my iphone 4S stolen a few months ago and wo it, I don’t have much chances to blog.
But I’ve since got another phone (Samsung gio – heard of it?) and managed to download WordPress on it. So here i am…
Something exciting had happened to me the past few weeks ago – I’ve been given a wonderful opportunity to direct a play! Omg, other than some art direction work I’ve done in poly for our skits or videos, I’ve not done any serious stage directing before. So when the bosses told me that I’ve been selected to direct a piece, you can imagine my ecstaticness… 🙂 its for our drama min’s Drama Fest, taking place on 7 Oct, sun. There’s 7 of us (amateur) directors, each putting up a 10min excerpt of a local playwright’s work. I’ve been given Stella Kon’s To Hatch A Swan, a play about motherhood. Haha I find it rather apt as this issue has been on my mind for quite some time. To have or not to have, that is the question (and a million dollar one too, I must add). Oh well…
I had 7 cast assigned to me but one dropped out to concentrate on her studies. So anyway, I met up w the actors for the first time last Sunday at bishan library. Had booked their project room for the.first rehearsal, 3 hours long, which saw us doing character analysis, a read-thru of the script, & a short discussion on the piece. Thank God everything went well.
While I’m over the moon to be given such an opportunity, i feel alittle apprehensive & unsure of myself… “Am I able to put up a good play? One of stagility standards?” these doubts have been clouding my mind the past week. So I’ve been assuring myself with the verse: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, power & a sound mind. That has been most useful.
Well its our second rehearsal tml, and I can’t wait to meet the actors again to go through the script & stage movements. It’ll be great! Once again, I thank God for the chance to direct.
Amazing combined leaders session w Pastor Mike Connell tonight. He taught us practical steps on how we can pray for others through the Holy Spirit.
He shared that to get miracles in the CG is not through our hardwork, but through the Holy Spirit. To flow w the Holy Spirit.
I felt the love & assurance of God throughout the session. N that was confirmed at the end of it when we tried to prophesy over the person next to us.
